SEBMFA TONBRIDGE INDOOR MEETING 2009

THE ANGEL CENTRE 22 NOVEMBER

This event was organised for the South East Area by Stuart Taylor and his local Tonbridge Gassers & Rubber Fanciers Group.

Unfortunately, like last year's initial running of the meeting, support was not particularly good this time, although it was nice to see more youngsters in attendance to take part in the parent/child competition using the Midair Models "Swift" model.

The main competitions concentrated on the various free flight scale classes and some of the country's leading exponents of this type of model were present with their remarkable creations. In particular, Divs Masters repeated his last year's success in winning the trophy for the best scale model of the meeting, again with his SE5a.

Hoping to attract support from the more average aeromodellers, the well known Hangar Rat and Butterfly mass launches, the former was well supported but the Butterfly attracted only three contenders and developed into just a friendly fun-fly. The Gyminnie Cricket in its standard version attracted more support than the lightweight version, possibly not unexpectedly.
